Psycho-MisAdventure

I once posted on another blog about “stopping the nonsense” relative to getting rid of the negative people in our lives.  There’s a group of gentle-boys out there in my life whom I shall refer to as BOFH and of whom one of them has to stop playing games within his own brain.  Actually they all do, but nevertheless this one recently got married and needs a reprimand.  First of all lads if you don’t have a clam phone, for the love of your unborn children, please be sure to disengage your cell when you don’t really want to leave a message.  Twice now, I have had to listen to private conversations between you and your wives.  One was kinda intimate and the other was blasphemous.  I want to discuss the latter today because the former was just plain hilarious.  If I sit back and think of the latter, it was kind of amusing as well.  Just the same, shame on you for talking about an old friend with whom you apparently have issues.  Your wife was trying to give fruitful advice so you could move on, but instead you wanted to convince her (or yourself) that you were right about this person for whom you unknowningly left a message.  Well guess what? You have unresolved issues yourself.  What we struggle with is usually a mirror reflection of what we hate the most or fear the most about ourselves.  It amazes me how so-called “educated people” can be so ridiculously shortsighted about themselves.  Yes you are letting your issues cloud your better judgement of others.  Yes you are letting your issues eat away at you. And like your wife said on the message: “forget about it”.  Unresolved once again.  Stop living in the past.  Man you just got married and you’re going to ruin it.  If your wife is half as insightful as I think she is, get over yourself and please seek the professional help you recommend to others.  I still think of you as bright, intelligent, and phenominally gifted, so use those gifts and don’t bring your wife down to your level. Rise to the occasion and reach her level of understanding, compassion, and forgiveness. Lastly, stop using the “F” word with her, it is extremely disrespectful.

The Fat Pusher

Let this be a lesson to all you adults who let your kids eat ice cream from the Ice Cream Man… you know, that guy in the diesel truck stinking up your streets and playing that annoying tune over and over and over again…. aaarrrrgghhh!

I know these people who bought a soft ice cream cone one day a few summers ago and decided they didn’t want to finish it… so they put the cones in the sink to let them melt.

The next morning they were still there UN-MELTED!!!! Oh! it was pure LARD!!!

So — DON’T EAT THAT CRAP FROM THE FAT PUSHER.

Losing the Passion

Is writer’s block and losing the passion to write the same thing? Of course not!

Writer’s block is merely a temporary misadventure… you are off track because of some distraction.  I call it a temporary misadventure because writing is so often an Adventure.  You lived it once, you dreamt about it, you are it !!!  So, get busy with the Adventure!

Losing the passion to write is also a misadventure, but not always temporary.  It can go on for, what seems, an eternity… never quite understanding where the passion went.  You can get back on track, but it’s YOUR choice.  This is not about a distraction or a temporary misadventure this is passion.  You haven’t actually lost it either.  Passion can be allegedly lost because of high impact intervention to your soul.  You have to ask yourself dreaded questions like “did I have the passion to begin with?” [ ego telling you: it ain’t so]; “what the hell am I doing?” [ ego telling you: join it in hell]; self-doubt sets in, but hey, here’s the choice… get off the rocker and climb the mountain and find it again and fight the evil ego.

Yeah, they sound the same but they are not!

Painful MisAdventure?

Pain Pain Go Away, Come Again Another Day

What is pain? It can come in so many forms as it does for me.  Breaking it up as Mind, Body, and Soul does not give it the attention it truly deserves.  Although, to keep it simple I’ll go that route.

Mindful Pain - the past, well the past does not exist, nor does the future, so we look at it today and I can only refer back into the blog archives for that, see Cyclical MisAdventures.

Bodily Pain - this is the reason I write today.  Bodily pain comes and goes, just like a cloud. The cloud could affect Mindful Pain, but it definitely affects Bodily Pain. I could blame it on the 20+ years I played high impact sports, or I could blame my genetic deficiencies. That takes care of the when it hurts, but why is it always a different place? And to top it off, why does it only sometimes include mindful pain or soulful pain. That’s the part that sucks. I need answers. I need a miracle… but, alas the pain will pass and things will be back to normal, whatever that means.

Soulful Pain - this one is deep. Actually it goes deeper than deep. I can think of only two particular instances when I had deep soulful pain. I can only describe it as being higher than mindful pain. I can only say loss is deep soulful pain.

Cyclical MisAdventures

Try Try Again…

So you do the research; say, primarily on the internet; you dig and dig and dig until you think you’ve exhausted every avenue possible; and you find out all this stuff on a topic that will remain nameless, but is completely harmless; you take appropriate steps, making a calculated move, and then blam! it blows up in your face.

Wouldn’t you think you’d stop the behaviour before it eats you up, devouring you from head to toe, and spits you out???  NO! of course not… you pick-up where you left off only to get it in your face once more.

The cycle repeats, but you’re enjoying it so much you don’t care if it makes you cry. I mean cry a lot.  Boo-hoo-hoo … just do it if it feels right!  It’s worth the adrenalin rush!

I met two remarkable men today at the Festival of Stories that was held at Georgina Pioneer Village.

Charlie Ross, whom I merely met over the phone just eight months ago, gave me valuable advice for my website when I first launched it in January 2006.  Today, I met him in person.  What a guy!  He is quite personable and has a wonderful sense of humour.  He is laid back and drinks in his surroundings and before you know it, he has pounced into the conversation Congratulations Charlie Ross, on making a remarkable success of everything you’ve done.

Kenneth William Cowle, whom I met briefly in October 2005 at a SLCFDC (SouthLake Community Futures Development Corporation) small business seminar, and who didn’t even remember being there until I refreshed his memory.  I remembered him because of his unique attire (the Hat) which he wasn’t wearing today, and because of his quietness, and his confusing state of where his business was headed.  Today was a different Kenneth. He looked healthier, happier, and was full of beans!Congratulations Kenneth William Cowle on your book “Cajun Moon” and subsequent publications.  You’ve come a long way.

Realization is Number One

With every adventure comes the occasional misadventure and this has to be “Realization Number One“.

We’re not in the most perfect world, and if we strive for perfection and achieve it, well that’s pretty damn good. Just don’t overlook the possibility of a MisAdventure along the way.

Welcome to Speak Your Mind…my blog for Toogood Virtual Assistance

(website: http://www.toogoodva.ca/)

Hopefully you will all say nice things about my website, however productive and constructive feedback is important as well. We all need feedback in life and if you don’t Speak Your Mind no one will know how to act, react and be proactive.

Positivity is crucial in this age of mental cruelty. We are bombarded daily with a magnitude of hurdles. Some we are oblivious to, and other hurdles are so blatant we sometimes don’t know what hit us. Moving past, over and/or around these hurdles is what gives us the strength to carry on and move forward, growing to limitless heights.

Pass on this URL to others who have positive things to say or share, and perhaps we can make a difference in the infinite world in which we all live.

Wishing you all good thingsLaura Toogood
